Uses/Applications : Closed type sand mills comprising steel balls or zirconium beads (also called steel ball mills) are used for dispersing primers like red oxide metal primer, blacks, blues, maroon and others. These sand mills are employed in the production of paints and pigments.
Open Type Sand Mills are used in processing enamels, cement primers and emulsions. Apart from this, our sand mills are utilized for processing a wide variety of products. Grinding process of open type sand mills ensures uniform mixture of several components. Sand mills designed for water based emulsions are exported by us. In this equipment, slurry is passed through the sand mill and the emulsion is then added as well as mixed in a slow speed stirrer. Impeller and pump with speed variator are provided with these mills.

The Sand Mills are mainly used by coating, ink and paint industries for the size reduction and dispersing of pigments in the liquids. The pigment particles are dispersed up to 2 microns in a single pass. The milling chamber is fitted with grinding media, where the feed is pumped from the bottom chamber. The material moves upwards and subjected to high shearing force, which results in the finely ground material. A jacket arrangement is also provided for the cooling of grinding material in the chamber.
